If you are like many Americans today, you work in a cubicle. While the half walls are a nice way to get some privacy from your coworkers, the bland neutral fabric covering cubicle walls can get boring after a while. If you spend eight hours a day in the office, consider giving your space more personality by hanging personal items there. The methods to display your items are all fairly simple.
Because cubicle walls are made of a composite material and covered in fabric, hanging anything too heavy from them can rip the fabric or even damage the structure itself. Most of us have seen people solve this problem by hanging pictures, graphs, drawings and other paper items in their cubicle using push pins. This is an easy way to post favorite items; just be sure to put a pin at all four corners to prevent the edges from curling.
Use cubicle wall hangers
Many companies make cubicle wall hangers for hanging heavier items from cubicle walls. Similar to over-the-door wreath hangers, they are metal pieces that hang from the top of the cubicle wall and drop down several inches, providing a hook that can be used to hang jackets, earphones or even frames. Most frames have a slit in the back where you can insert the metal hook. Great things to hang in your cubicle via this method include diplomas or certificates, framed thank-you letters and graphs needed for your business. Remember that everything looks better in a frame, even that drawing your daughter did for you in crayon.
Consider other hanging products
Companies have also come out with many other products to help you hang pictures in a cubicle. Some products hang over the wall but feature a clip at the end so you can hang things without poking a hole in the image. Scotch also makes cubicle grips which grip to most cubicle fabrics in the same way Velcro works; one side of the grip has a sticky surface to adhere to your picture. Any of these options will make it easy to post items that bring more personality to your space.
